Last year, I began to study social sciences in psychology at our cegep. Let me just say to you of this program helps a lot in your personal development. I mean that the goal of social sciences is to allow to their students objectivity. This helps you to analyze and understand social behaviours. There is particulary one subject in those sciences who needs the quality to be witty. This discipline in question is sexology. In fact, my personnal essay will talk about this subject.

First, it’s important to know that sexual relations have been present since humans was on Earth. But, it can be interesting to look at the evolution of sexology. In the primitive period, we considered sexology as normal behaviours. But it was considered as an immoral thing in the medieval period. Today, we begin to accpet the reality of having sex. But, we have a lot of question about this subject like: "Can we consider prostitution as the central problem of sexology?", "Do bisexuality and hysterical fantasy have a link between them?" or "Can we find a solution when we have sexual dysfunction?". Well, we have to understand the position of sexology when we listen those questions. I mean that sexology is a vast subject and we just begin to do studies with the goal to answer those questions. For this, we have to look all different aspects on sexology: biology, psychology, sociology, anthropology, medicine, philosophy, history and many others. As you can see, sexology regroups some disciplines from social sciences and uses them to allow a real interraction between people in the society. So, we expect many things as you can see before to begin a rational research project on sexual behaviour.

But there is a problem if you wish to continue studying in this program. In fact, there is not a lot of resources in human sexuality. I mean that sexology is a subject in witch it can be difficult to discover some new informations. But, there is always a possibility to continue in this way, maybe you could be interest with sex therapy, biology of reproduction, human sexuality education or sociology of sexuality. Please just open your mond to explore this wonderful world gives to you.
